first trip to the beauty shop

miss gracie had her first haircut today (not including the one she had given herself). 

before

during.  she held on tight to that chair & didn't move an inch the entire time.

after.  viola!  still a beauty, but hopefully with a little bit more manageable hair...

we ate at grandy's before preschool, as we didn't have quite enough time to make it back home for a bite to eat.  was full of funny knock knock jokes, mainly the interrupting cow & duck ones.  i think they made many senior citizens' days in there (it was double discount day for seniors).   ben did not have a haircut today, but woke up with it extra flippy for some reason...

happy wednesday!  only a few more days until ben has his video game privileges reinstated (even after looking at the calender & counting with me, he knows it has been 7 days since he got in trouble.  i am "tricking him" he says.)

haircut time!

momma & beano went to get haircuts this morning.   sorry daddio, but your $10 place doesn't quite work for me (the gal cut my hair dry & then would curl each section after she cut it...).  well, here's ben during his haircut.  he was sooo embarrassed by the clips.  at least they weren't pink!  he's a looking good.  watch out gals!

with a little help

i tackled the rest of the leaves yesterday with the help of a neighbor & 2 kiddos. & gracie tackled a fear with the help of her big brother.


the kiddos were a big help with the yard & neighbor john brought out his leaf mower/vacuum and helped. i had to show a picture of that thing because it is so frickin cool. he did our side yard next to him & the area he did looks like we used a dyson on it, no debris in sight. he's a great neighbor to have; he has all the cool toys!


gracie has been afraid to go down the slide of our play gym. you can see her feet (with no shoes on, i know - bad mom) at the top of the slide as ben lands into the big pile of leaves.



with her brother behind her, she took the plunge.


& loved it!



check out ben's new do. he said he was finally ready for a haircut. his mommma thinks he's as handsome as ever!

his new do

he's not too happy about it, but i think it will be nice & cool for summertime. he said he couldn't wait for it to grow & be back in his eyes..he looks so different. every time he gets a haircut, i wonder why did we do it?!?

papaw update: he's been feeling pretty rough. his throat hurts from the radiation & he's been weak. today damaw took him to the doc & they gave him an iv for dehydration. hopefully tomorrow, he will feel a little better.

gracie nursing update: she quit just like that! 2 weeks now & she hasn't even asked for it (i thought she would never give it up). the "owie" method of telling her they were hurt worked. i think karma got me & made them really hurt. i am finally feeling better, 2 antibiotics later. thank goodness!

a happy monday to all!

the new do..

here is his professional hair cut. he's my dollbaby. i'm so thankful the lady didn't shorten it too much. i care more about his hair than my own- a bit silly i know.

tonight, santa is visiting our home. the kiddos went to bed early so we could wrap & put together some things. nothing like waiting till the last minute. the kiddos got up at 4 this morning, due to beano puking. he felt all better by noon. daddio, on the other hand is starting to feel yucky. i hope he's feeling better for present time.
we've got lots of activities & a mini vacation coming up (to the smoky hills as beano calls them). i can't wait. i hope we magically get healthy.

getting a haircut...

well, justin has been saying beano needs a haircut for several months now. i have been ignoring him. he has been strongly suggesting it lately, so i decided to trim it up & just get it out of his eyes. that didn't turn out too well. it's very uneven. today, damaw said she could feather his sides since she does the dogs' hair (what was i thinking??). he moved while she was cutting it, so one side is now super short.
what makes me laugh about his haircut is my mom had the same do when she was in the first grade, except her bangs were even shorter.

it really doesn't look that bad, but tomorrow we are going to a salon. i will post with results tomorrow.....

on another note; tonight, daddio was rocking cecee with all of the dolls from her crib. it was so sweet to hear him singing to her. he's such a good daddy.
