here fishy, fishy, fishy

memorial day weekend we went to namaw & poppy's for a good 'ole fishing trip.  everyone looking cool as cats in our hats!

gracie's favorite thing of the day was finding a tiny froggy.  one of her newest obsessions.

mr. benj wasn't the only one to catch the fish.  here's gracie with her big one!

man, was it hot!  i was glad gracie was hot, so we could go back to namaw & poppy's & chill in the ac.  but, we did make several trips out to the lake.

one time, ben thought he was ready to go home.  but then, he got that fifteenth wind & went on to catching some more.

after daddio & uncle rocky saved this snapping turtle from some line, both kiddos were ready to skedaddle.  & we did!

i won't mention what happened to that beast after they saved him...

spring started to poke it's head here this week & we took full advantage of it.  (ok, the first day ben wanted to bring his nintendo outside to play with him...) 

taking in the day.  (we were working on daddio's birthday present outside...)

gracie tied up zak real good so he wouldn't run away. poor dog.  it took me forever to untangle that knot!

a walk down the street is always fun.

first big brother wanted to pull lil sis in the wagon.  he was extra cautious to make sure it didn't go too fast. 

then, sis wanted to give him a ride.

of course, we had to race..

ben gave his sister a helping hand.

they started to get "tired out" so momma pulled them all back.

yea for spring!

today felt like a lovely spring & we took advantage of it (once we finally got out of bed)!  unfortunately, the house work i was planning on doing this week while daddio is gone is not getting done so much.  we'll have a rainy day soon for that. 

played at the playground with friends after preschool.  always lots o fun.

played at home & went for a walk in search of mr. friendly kitty.  he was no where to be found today. 

but what a wonderful day!

miss grace was hugging on ben & of course, i had to ask them to do it again so i could get a picture.  i annoy them so!

feeling froggy

we all went out back today to work on the cement pond. we are getting ready to close it up after a summer of fun. the pool was quite icky today, a nice shade of algae green. we have not been keeping up with the maintenance over the past 2 weeks, procrastinating closing it. so, it has become a new home for many frogs from the pond.

miss gracie was thrilled to see them swimming around. daddio caught her one & she loved it & pet it & squeezed it & named it hoppy.

we caught 2 for ben that he has in a special "aquarium" that he can hopefully take them to show & tell. he was not so much into holding or even touching the little jumpers like his sis.

the kiddos had the best time with their frogs - ben making a habitat for his new pets & gracie holding onto hers for dear life. until the inevitable happened... hoppy jumped...

but, never fearo, daddio was able to track him down with his expert frog hunting skills & get a hoppy back for gracie.
everything & everyone is now happy again in our household. thank you daddio!
