the zoo

a friend from gracie's class called (his mommy) friday afternoon & asked if we had any plans & would like to enjoy the zoo...we were still in our pj's (lazy momma here).  so off we went to enjoy the beautiful day!

the kiddos had a blast & got to do some extra super special things - like petting some special animals & feeding the rhino & watching the world's oldest hippo, donna, have a bite to eat. 

i just love the amozonia portion of the zoo, so awesome!  the kiddos love it too, with the animals all about.

ben has a bit of allergies & is constantly clearing his throat, making a hacking noise.  buddy logan thought that was quite hilarious & decided to join in.  they were laughing so hard over it, had me snorting.  good times. thanks so much for inviting us to go to the zoo & the great time logan & samantha & dave!!

on the way home, i asked the kiddos what their favorite part was. 

gracie: "everything!"

after preschool thursday, we headed to the zoo. i had promised we'd do it sometime in the week while daddio was away & time was running out. 

 the kiddos were a bit worn out towards the end, dragging a bit.  "this was the worst idea ever!" they said.  oh, the drama! 

we hit amazonia last & got to see the baby jaguar cubs.

grace thought it was all pretty cool! 

a bit too scary for this momma though.  i'm glad there was some thick glass between us.  it freaked annabelle, melissa & me out a bit.

at the end, we had some dippin dots ice cream & everyone was recharged & happy again. 

our favorite animals at the zoo

no preschool today, so the kiddos & i went to the zoo.
ben spent most of the time saying "come on guys!" he's always ready to make it to his favorite things at the zoo...

gracie, on the other hand, was taking time to smell each & every flower along the way (she was trying to pick them all too)

we made it to the giraffes. my favorite. up there with the kiddos too because they get so close to you.
ben even petted it today.

our next stop were the sea otters. the kiddos looove getting in the underwater tube & watching the otters swim all around. i think the entire zoo could hear their squeals of delight watching the otters.

after the otters, we called it a day, as they were tired of walking & very hungry. we ate at the zoo cafe, which wasn't half bad. the kids really enjoyed their icecream dots!

now what to do for the weekend???
