footy pj time!

it's footy pajama time!

i hated these things as a kid, but love it when my kiddos have them on. they just seem so cozy.


big brother & little sis are cuddled up & ready to watch a baby eistein dvd (they have been on a baby movie kick for some reason) & read some books.


daddio, hurry home. we don't like your late nights of work!! (but are very thankful you do it :) )

bedtime

daddio had to work super late last night. on those late nights, the kiddos really miss him. i try to make sure we have extra fun, to make the time go by quicker for us all.

we had a dance party complete with disco ball that lasted the entire dan zane's cd. he rocks, especially for "family music".


after that, some books & bed. which then required a snack of goldfish, apples & smoothies. the bed was nice crunchy- yuck.
ben is in need of a haircut. even i will admit it. but just a trim.

bedtime snack gave them energy for jumping fun. (this happens about every night though) we do not have the calm, peaceful bedtime routine that i always envisioned. i'm fine with that though. bedtime's pretty fun around here.




we gave daddy a call to tell him goodnight & then said our prayers! (ben's picture was staged - i asked him to show me how he prays at school. but that is really miss gracie praying - such a sweetpea)

we were actually all asleep earlier than when daddio is home (9:00 for the kiddos & 9:30 for me last night - woo hoo!). but, we are glad he will be home tonight at a decent hour (i hope).

pajama party

daddio has been working crazy hours the past few weeks - 9am till midnight, noon till 1 am; it's been all over the place. at first it was ok, but now it sucks. i miss him. the kids miss him. i am greatful for his job & know this is short term, but it's got me in a funk. i stay up waiting for him to get home everynight because i am worried something might happen to him. so, i am dragging around everyday not feeling too hot.
today, we didn't even get out of our pajamas.
the kids had fun having a pajama party all day. they have a good time no matter what. i feel quilty though, that i haven't been doing our normal activities with them (crafts, workbooks, baking & such). hopefully soon we'll get back on track.

i felt kinda silly having them take a bath & put on clean pjs since we did so much today.

today, gracie's new word was "happy!" she has been saying it nonstop. i think she was saying it as she fell asleep tonight. we have a set prayer we say everynight & then ask god to bless family & friends & leaders we name. tonight, he wanted to do the blessing game on his own he said. he blessed brocolli, carrots and cheese. he thought he was hilarious. what a mess.

now i lay me down to sleep

we go to bed late around here compared to most families i think.
our evening routine consists of:
6ish: eat supper (hopefully daddio's home)
6:30 get all wound up since daddio's home
maybe go for a walk or have a dance party
7:30 or 8: take a bath
8:30 book time (& sometimes a thomas the tank engine video)
9:00 lights out

daddio often falls asleep during book time, bless his heart. he gets up waaay early &snores waaay too loud.

i love late nights with the kids. we say our prayers & bless all of our family & friends. deedee & paul have been on beano's #1 prayer list for quite a while now. we talk about what our favorite things about the day were. beano will often tell what he did wrong that day & that he was sorry.

after that, we cuddle & i nurse cecee to sleep on one side and hold beano in my other arm. i love to hold them & look at their sweet faces & feel their breathing. they are such a gift from god. i love to fell comforted knowing my family is all in bed together; daddio, beano, cecee bella, me & zakky.

i usually get up & leave beano & daddio in bed and get on here. this is why i am so tired!!!

here's a picture from beano taking a nap at papaw's house a few months ago. while he was resting, sissy was ontop of the kitchen table smokin a pipe! not really, just blowing on one of the old bubble blowing pipes.

i think her necklace sets of the picture that much more!

the picture of bean & cecee napping together didn't last long. i moved her into the other bed with me.

tomorrow is saturday, yipee! we will wake up & all eat breakfast together in bed watching cartoons, my favorite! i think we will be needing a bigger bed someday if we are to have any more join us! good night & have a great weekend!!!
