peek a boo!

the corner kitchen cabinet has become the favorite spot for hiding. ceecee was the first to hide there, which i thought was pretty good for her to come up with.

the cabinet contents have also become favorite toys in the past few weeks. shopping for groceries, putting them in the shopping cart & stacking cans is an almost daily activity. here is cecee modeling one of namaw's hats next to a tower she was working on while beano napped.
she would only build on the stacking peg board, i guess because that's where you are supposed to stack things. she was very proud of her tower of 4 cans!

cecee is turning into such a girlie girl; wanting to wear hairbows, carry a purse around & wear her necklace. today she wasn't satisfied until she was wearing all the bows. what will we do when she becomes a teenager? oh my....

happy birthday namaw!

happy birthday namaw, we love you!!

dave & kate's wedding

this past weekend, we traveled to peoria, illinois for our wonderful friends' wedding. everything about their wedding was so special; i need to write them a thank you for sharing their day with us. the love & respect they have for each other & their families is just awesome. i wish i would have gotten a picture of the beautiful couple, but was too busy trying to keep the kids somewhat settled during the wedding.

the kids were pretty good at the ceremony considering... no nap prior to it for beano - our hotel room had too many things for him to jump on & off of (& a swimming pool we played in for over an hour that morning). the ceremony was held outside at a golf course. it was a bit challenging for the kids to sit quietly, but with help we managed (thank goodness for snacks & friendly people sitting behind us).

during his toast, the father of the bride said "there's been ....." beano shouted "here i am!" we went outside for a while after that.

after the band started playing, our kiddos started to groove. they were dancing fools! i was crying i was laughing so hard at them. ceecee has a move we call the "wounded chicken" & beano was tearing up that dance floor with his break dancing & other fine moves. it was after 10 when we picked them up off the dance floor.

this was the longest road trip we have ever been on with the kiddos(a little over 5 hours). my, oh my, it was long. they watched lots of dvds & had way too many snacks.

by hour 4, both of them were done. but then daddy started rolled down the windows & we were all happy again - who knew that's all it took.
we turned off the dvd, turned on the radio and danced in our seats the rest of the way home!

4 years & 2 kids..

happy belated anniversary my love! you have made my life more wonderful than i could ever imagine. thank you for being my best friend. i love you.

my little rockstar

we loooove dance parties & jam sessions around here. the kids have a blast when daddio gets out the guitar & starts strumming a tune. beano will start singing, cecee starts dancing & i start laughing.

a few nights ago, i finally remembered to get out the video camera. beano was very "wild up", as he likes to say (he's often too wild up to take a nap) & the singing & dancing was quite entertaining. i've tried to translate some of the song for you. "123, oh neah (yeah). race cars, i'm super cool, i love my mama. oh neah. i'm super cool, yes i am. i'm super cool, toot on the monster" i think we have a family band in the making! please pardon my laughing, the mess in the house & on the kids, etc, etc. enjoy!

2 little monkeys jumping on the bed

thank goodness none fell off & bonked their head!

the kiddos have the best time jumping on the bed. making the bed can sometimes be a challenge with their help, but they have such a good time! beano's bed is low to the ground & usually all the pillows & stuffed animals are surrounding the bed in case of crash.

one beano & daddio's favorite games to play is wipeout - crash (their original made up game)! when daddio is laying down, beano stands on top of him, says "wipeout" & then crashes onto the bed. they do this forever & it seems to often be before bedtime when we are supposed to be settling down. beano loooves the wipe
out game show on tv. the first time we watched it, he was cracking up saying "oh my, look at that!"

check out beano's shirt, it's from his own picture!
i cut some material out & sewed on my interpretation of it. he recognized it right away. he has named the monster "Mikey."

hope everyone has a great weekend!
kristen & sam, happy 1st anniversary & enjoy the bahamas! we love you!

i'll still love you..

whenever we discipline mr. bean, after time out we tell him we will always love him no matter what.

i think he gets the picture.

now, if he does something wrong, or sees me starting to get upset he says "mom, sometimes things happen, but i'll still luv you" & gives me a big hug. i don't know how many times i heard it today, but it changed my disposition very quickly. that little guy knows how to melt his mama's heart!

today, we had a good day. we went this morning to gray studio looked at the kiddos' pictures he had taken. they brought tears to my eyes, they were that good! michael is awesome in capturing the beauty & personality of our kids. they aren't the traditional posed pictures. they are the kids being kids, holding hands, pushing, playing peekaboo, hugging a bit too hard, just big brother & little sister moments. i love them. i had a hard time picking out my favorite. i ordered a BIG print where little miss is laughing and has her tongue stuck out & big brother is trying to hold her back. it's not the typical family portrait, but i like it. hope daddy does too! i can't wait for all the pictures to come in & share how sweet they are.

after pictures, we went & ate at Moe's. mr. bean loooves quesadillas & i likey the burritos.
we did some birthday shopping at hobby lobby & then headed to beanos 3 year old well check
(2 months early). he's a.o.k., right on track (a little advanced i say :) schultzy looked at bean's ears & then cecee had to have hers done. hers were fine.

tomorrow, i hope we do some crafts, or "craps" like beano calls them.

halloween costumes

here's the start to our blog... my friend karen blogs & it's so fun to read what they are up to. i hope to use this blog as a journal of sorts, to share with friends & family the fun & not so fun things in daily life around our home.

i've been working on the kiddos halloween costumes. miss cecee will be a butterfly using the tutu from her 1 year old pictures.

i appliqued a butterfly onto a onesie for her top. her wings were made out of coat hangers & tulle. her costume seems to be missing something, glitter or butterfly barrettes perhaps? i can't get a good pic on her, so the teddy bear is modeling tonight.

mr. bean wants to be batman. so, i think he will be wearing his batman pjs that night. i'm going to try & make a hooded cape for him. i was so sure he would be a bug. he likes to dress ups like a bug in his bath towel everynight & daddio flys him around the room. i scream & pretend to swat him until he says " mama it's just me!"

i just love halloween! it was the first time daddio & i ever went out. i had the time of my life that night at the parties & everyday just keeps getting better with him. thank you hun!
we have the home all spooked out ready for the zero trick or treaters that come! hopefully, our good cousins will have a get together even thought they are all almost grown out of the halloween excitement.
